STRIPPING:
This is a process beginning with a thorough, diligent sweeping or vacuuming of a floor. Then, soaking with a cleaning solution. After a period of time know as ‘dwell time,’ we agitate the floor with an auto scrubber or electric scrubber. Then we wet vac the cleaning solution from the floor, immediately rinsing with clean water. There are times when this process needs repeating to truly ‘strip’ the floor. The whole purpose of this is to get to the truth of the floor, which is now ready to seal and wax.
WAXING:
Is the act of spreading a Urethane or Acrylic liquid plastic upon a floor. It sounds so simple. There are other kinds of products also. Waxes and sealers are distributed upon the floor with a mop or wax applicator leaving a coating. Multiple coatings are often applied, ideally smoothly and evenly layered. Knowing which wax is best for a particular floor is our job as floor care experts. There is an art to this.

POLISHING:
Is the heating of the plastic coating with a floor burnisher or “buffer.” A floor burnisher uses friction to heat the plastic, sort of like a Zamboni smooths the ice. The wax is designed to respond to heat. Hardening and resurfacing, leaving a glossy finish. When a floor has a good finish it not only looks good, but it also repels dirt dust and protects from stains which makes maintenance easier.

Floor Maintenance:
A general service would include sweeping, vacuuming, deep clean and scrub, edges corner hand mopped and detailed with a razor scraper. (What good is a shiny floor with dirty edges?) Then the floor is re-coated with finish or polished to finish. Oftentimes home owners or businesses benefit greatly from having a professional service keep their floors commanding respect.
